Concept and design for a smartwatch app | StopSmoking

During the 3rd semester at university in the module “Human-Computer Interaction” consisting of Usability and Interaction Design our task was to write the concept, design and implement a clickable prototype for a smartwatch app.

We worked in teams of 3-4 people and created the general concept, created personas and a storyboard, conducted a usability study and created and designed the prototype using the free prototyping plattform Justinmind. The app language is in German.

For the design we chose a relatively clean look. The startpage doesn’t feature any text so the small smartwatch screen wouldn’t be too full. instead we have used small icons.

Additionally to the smartwatch app we created a compatible smartphone app. Our app is called StopSmoking and should encourage smokers to monitor and control their daily amount of smoking. This is able with the USP; the motion detecting sensor which detects whenever the user is smoking a cigarette.

The project lasted from September 2015 until January 2016.
